BIG BASS BIG TUBA MUSIC NYC

The work day is over and New Yorkers rush out into the evening chill coats pulled tight, eyes focused looking for the first Cab to pass their way ,speed walking to the nearest Sub Way, and as they wait for the lights to turn they here Jazz sounds, New Orleans style, big Tuba big Bass horns and drums they cross the street to the New York Plaza Hotel Park on 58th and 5th avenue. Stress of the day melts away there is a new sway in their steps, faces are lit up with smiles and New Yorkers are dancing the night away.

Splashes of Toronto.

Welcome to the Year 2011 my followers worldwide: those of you from the USA, Russia, Canada, UK, Guyana, China, Spain, Croatia, and Denmark.

Glimpse Toronto below ground and above ground. I’m heading to the heart of Toronto East- bound from Isington station. From there I hop on the Bloor-Danforth line the (green line) to me. With no time to nod I arrive at Bloor-Yonge Station and here I am welcome by a flutist/Guitarist playing jazz-classical compositions of his own. I give him a dollar for a picture and I get a bright smile. Toronto underground. Time to change trains to the Yonge- University- Spadna line (long name yellow line to me) heading to Dundas Station. Here just before I take the escalator to the streets into the Eaton Centre, I am soothed by poetic Chinese music played on an Erhu. After experiencing exotic shopping I emerged onto the streets and there between Dundas and Yonge a pavement artist captures Toronto in color. Time for a cool off I head to the fountains of Dundas Square. Toronto I love you. With this blog up date I have added two old paintings of mine Dengulae; Caribbean carnival flowers dancing. And La Nascosta; the (hidden one).
As usual should you have an interest in any of my paintings please feel free to shoot me an email and we will discuss terms of sale. Paintings for Remembrance of Christmas howeverare not for sale.

REMEMBRANCE OF CHRISTMAS

Christmas also means giving of oneself. One Christmas my mother was working very hard on a Nativity play for our local church. She had offered me a part in her play. I refused the part. Why? I had on idea I had become a stubborn and rebellious teenager. In retrospect, I had no good reason to turn down the part. Two days before the opening, her leading actor pulled out of the play. I believe he got cold feet. I was her only recourse and she came to me one more time. I accepted. What is my reward? A kiss from an old lady in the audience. Deanna How did my mother feel? Proud. Me? I love Christmas it brings out the best in people. It makes our goodness shine. What gift Christmas is but for us to accept.

Sleted Blendz

Its rush hour you exit the E train at 53rd and 5th avenue down in bowels of New York City Underground full of anxiety to face the coming day’s events. Only to be greeted by {Blendz} three wonderful men and a cello singing A cappella. Oh! Happy day, and People get ready, suddenly all you anxiety are now dissolved and you know it’s going to be another wonderful day.

REMEMBRANCE OF CHRISTMAS

The school term is not yet over my part is still available. One week before Christmas, I rehearsed my part. The play opens on Christmas Eve. There was a standing ovation for me before and after the play. By then Deanna wanted to act with me she was in love with me all along and I did not know. Oh! Boy! How I love this Christmas time of the Year.

Manhattan 28th & 6th avenue.

Thursday I ventured on one of my holiday traditions going down to Manhattan Whole Sale Flower District. Here you can buy enough Orchids to have an orchidaceous decoration in every room of your home. From Queens New York you take the F Train going down town to lower Manhattan 23rd street on the 6th avenue line. Walk four blocks to 28th street. And suddenly you are engulfed by splendid armor and Flora of multiple verities. Here are a few picture of the morning.

Yesterday Tiffany &Co unveiled its holiday windows and interior decoration. With snow falling in 54 degrees weather along with the Saint Thomas Boys Choir singing carols. Candy Cane, Gingerbread, and Hot Chocolate were served on a Tiffany blue carpet. An exciting evening in New York City.
